We asked about location suggestions and she was ready with several options. We ended up going to two locations and she timed it just right to get some photos during the most beautiful sunset.

choosing a location
Choosing a non-traditional venue for your photos is the easiest way to make the session feel really personal. Consider places that are meaningful to you in someway, whether it represents a special memory or even just your personal style. Some options might be local breweries, coffee shops, record stores, parks, lakes, trails, monuments, parking garage, county fair or even your own home.

Most definitely! Travel is included up to 60 miles from 17046. Anything beyond that will be a separate custom quote based on location and trip duration. If you really feel passionately about a location let's talk about it. I have done engagement sessions as far away as Portland, Oregon.
It's totally normal to feel this way. Being photographed doesn't have to be stressful. That's why I am here. I know the secret sauce for capturing images that feel natural and carefree. I bet 95% of the couples you see all over my website felt exactly that same as you do. Trust me to make you feel comfortable and work all the right angles.
Possibly, but keep in mind that just because I have been to a location before this does not mean that you will have a cookie cutter session. Everytime I am at a location it's different; the foliage changes, the sunlight is different, the wind is different, even the types of outfits you are wearing. There are so many elements that are variables. Unless I would be photographing two sessions side by side at the exact same time, it's going to be unique to you.
Part of the reason that you are trusting me with your images is because you've seen my strength in making couples look relaxed, in the moment and confident. I will absolutely always do minor skin touch ups, so if you wake up to a pesky pimple have no fear. Actually don't even think about it, cause it will magically be gone! Do I modify your body shape? NO....but remember we are going to work those flattering angles!
You can expect a sneak peak within 24 hours and then your full gallery within 3 weeks. I strive to get you your photos back as quickly as possible without compromising the quality. So if I am done sooner, you'll get them sooner. If you need them back faster for a special event or printing save the dates, please let me know and we can take a look at my schedule on a case by case basis. Your photos will be delivered in a digital download gallery so you have immediate access to save and print. Full print rights are included, so you may print wherever you'd like. Printing is available through your gallery from a professional print lab, but it is not required.

Complimentary colors, textures and patterns can take your session to the next level. Think coordinating, but not matching. You both in white t-shirts and jeans is going to look super dated (hello 90's!)
I am personally partial to neutrals and jewel tones, as they work best with my overall editing and aesthetic. Which is why you picked me right?! But, you pick colors that match your personal vibe.
Avoid large logos and graphics. Let the focus be on your connection instead of advertising your favorite athletic brand. On the other hand though, I am always down for some vintage band tee's if that is your vibe. Remember it's about your personalities. (I know a lot of button ups and polo shirts have a small emblem on them, don't stress that. If its super distracting little logo of a man on a horse, I'll probably just edit it out!)
If you want to do multiple outfits, I would cap it at 2. Especially if we are moving locations or hiking around, this will take up a bit of time. Two outfits will let you show two different vibes and color combinations.
Also don't stress having to get dressed in the woods or in the backseat of your car. I have a pop up changing tent, so you can change with ease!
It sounds like a no-brainer, but when you look back at these photos later, you will remember how you felt. Set yourself up for a great experience instead of fussing over pants that are falling down, sleeves that won't stayed cuffed. Think of the location you selected and plan footwear accordingly. If we will be hiking opt for shoes that won't kill you or bring a change of shoes for the walk and we'll stash them off to the side out of sight.
Consider having your hair and makeup done. Ladies this could be the perfect time to coordinate your wedding day makeup trial. Guys, get that fresh haircut. A little extra pampering is always a confidence booster.
If it's been awhile since your ring has been cleaned, this is a good reason to polish it up a little bit. I like to take a few details shots of the bling while you are changing outfits or at the end of the session.

In many cases we are selecting the session time based on the sunset time for the day. So if you arrive late we are racing the sun and have less time together. I would rather have more than enough time and wait out the sun if we need to wait for a perfect moment as the sun is hitting the horizon or sparkling in the trees.
If this is the first time you have ever been photographed together (or even if its been awhile). Browse through my instagram, imagine yourselves in those photos. You'll get a sense of how couples feel during a session. You see all those smiles and laughs? That's about to be you! I am never going to have you do anything super stiff and posed. We might do some cool serious smoldering shots, but truly just be game to laugh through the awkwardness. It honestly makes for the best photos!
These photos are for you! You don't have live up to anyone else's photos. If you are super into fashion, live it up! If you are homebodies, keep it cozy! There are no rules!
